Oklahoma Police Academy Requirements and Oklahoma Police Officer Qualifications
Age: (by start date of Academy) at least 21 years of age, but not yet 43 years of age
Education: An associate degree, or a minimum of 62 successfully completed semester hours, from an accredited college or university.
Military and/or Law Enforcement experience DOES NOT substitute for the required hours and/or degree.
Residency: Citizen of the United States of America
Disqualifications
- Have been convicted two or more times for DUI, DWI, or DUID.
- Have been convicted of one DUI, DWI, or DUID within the past ten years.
- Have been charged with a DUI, DWI, or DUID within the past five years.
- Have had driving privileges legitimately suspended or revoked within the past thirty-six months.
- Have received convictions for five or more moving traffic violations on more than three separate occasions within the past thirty-six months.
