I'm pretty clear on the requirements, but just as the military does I'm sure there are some requirements that are not as etched in stone as they mat seem. At least am hoping that is the case. I am 22 years old, previous military veteran. I plan on going back in as a reserve. Now I would like to know if that would interfere with me attempting to become and officer in Florida? I would also like to know if having a General Under Honorable Conditions will hinder me in applying as well? As far as everything else is concerned, I do believe that I comply with all the other requirements. I have no medical problems, I am in good shape, and I know I could pass the physical aspect of things. I just started college in January. I don't have a police record. So the only thing I am worried about is if my military history checks out as okay. Oh and I don't have the college credits yet either, but like I said I am actively in school right now.

Every department has different requirements, however, they will require a complete medical exam. I am sure that the issue will arise. It would be the doctor's call that is doing the exam to make, if it will be an issue.

I would ask for regular physician and find out his thoughts.

I have a congenital heart defect known as Transposition of the great vessles(A condition in which the aorta and pulmonary artery are transposed). I have had surgery to correct it and I would like to know if a person with my condition can work in Law Enforcement. If I can, could you tell me what physucal and medical requirements are present for police candidates Florida? If I can not, could you give me information on careers in this field I can do? Please reply as soon as possible if you can. Thanks!
