I have a congenital heart defect known as Transposition of the great vessles(A condition in which the aorta and pulmonary artery are transposed). I have had surgery to correct it and I would like to know if a person with my condition can work in Law Enforcement. If I can, could you tell me what physucal and medical requirements are present for police candidates Florida? If I can not, could you give me information on careers in this field I can do? Please reply as soon as possible if you can. Thanks!

Every department has different requirements, however, they will require a complete medical exam. I am sure that the issue will arise. It would be the doctor’s call that is doing the exam to make, if it will be an issue.

I would ask for regular physician and find out his thoughts.
