Police want help fight crime.
But not everyone they talk to understands what they need to know, or that they need people to talk to them.
Capt. Troy Schulze recalls once fielding a call about a fight in progress outside a person’s home.
He asked for the caller’s phone number, address and a description of what was happening, but the caller got upset.
“Most fights are over when we get there,” Schulze said. “We need to let the public know that these questions will be asked because we need the information.”
